Like any drug, while there are some potential side effects that comes from drinking caffeine like an elevated heart rate and the &quot;caffeine jitters&quot; if you happen to consume too much, with moderate consumption I think the benefits of caffeine before workouts fair outweigh any negatives. Also, once you start to build up a tolerance for caffeine the &quot;bad&quot; side effects tend to lessen.</description>

Why? the increase in heart rate and BP on-top of your working out is a negative and can strain your heart and blood vessels. Better to drink water and maintain glucose levels. Once you get going you feel much more energized than any stimulant (legal!) will make you feel.</description>
